The Soulpass Project

Came across this poem today; it was hiding among the thousands of files on my computer. I think it came about while joking around with someone via email. From 2004:

The rain is falling with incredible power --
  we have no choice but to pull over.

The wipers are full of energy,
  yet it is impossible to see or hear
    through the tremendous downpour.

  The only source of light is the greenish tint
    coming from the illuminated dash panels,
    and the faded reflections
      of the headlight beams from outside.

We sit silently for a spell --
  mesmerized;

The powerful rhythm of the raindrops
  is complimented by peaceful melodies
  from a local jazz station on the radio.

In one shared moment,

  as if by telepathy,
    we turn to face each other.

  With that same motion, I reveal the diamond ring;
    one that I had kept in my pocket for so long,
      in preparation for this enchanting moment.

Without a word, she nods her head "yes," in acceptance.
  Her beautiful eyes begin to swell joyously as a teardrop
  gracefully makes its way down her trembling cheek.

I too begin to feel tears forming,
  as I gaze blissfully into her gentle heart
    through the window of her captivating eyes.

  Even as the rain falls and the music plays,
    there is utter silence.

Our wonder-struck expressions
  transform into mischievous grins
  as our lips instinctively draw nearer.

As far as my own observations have revealed, it seems that many people word the expression, “I could care less about [such and such].” But wouldn’t that imply that there is room to care less than one likely means to express? The way I understand it, the expression is meant to imply that one doesn’t care at all. Theoretically, saying “could care less” could be logically interpreted as caring a great deal. So if I’m getting this right, then it might be worth keeping that in mind. I always like to say that “I could not care less.”

In case you may have been wondering, parentheses is plural, and parenthesis is singular.
